We have been working from home for a few weeks now, and it is starting to feel normal. I am beginning to wonder if I really need an office!
We have actually been surprisingly productive. Paul and I have finished the first draft of our next book tentatively called “360-Degree Family Wealth Management”. We have held our first “Go to Meeting” video conference and our first podcast.
We are grateful to still be in business and that all of our families, staff, and clients are healthy and virus-free.
Today marks the first day for our newest team member, Elizabeth D’Aleo. She will be our Director of Client Relations. Her job will be to support me and Paul as we create plans, update plans and manage Portfolios. She has a solid background in the industry and we have known her many years in former roles.
We picked out a nice office with a view for her, but who knows when she will be able to use it. In the meantime, we are ramping up all of our digital capabilities.
Now that we are all confined to our homes and most likely spending more time on our personal computers, it is critical to utilize strong cybersecurity. Here are a few of the things we are doing and might be good for you to consider:
- Avoid public Wi-Fi. Right now you may have no choice about this. If the opportunity presents itself…..avoid it!
- Use strong passwords and change them periodically, and avoid using the same one for everything. A password keeper app really helps with this. Remember uPPer and LoWer case letters, numbers and symbol$.
- If you have not already, install anti-virus software.
- And of course, be extra vigilant about giving out any personal data via email.
At the moment, it seems like we will be working from home for another month at least.
Every day I ask myself “when this is all over, what will I wish I had used this time to do?” This helps me stay on a positive and productive track.
Be safe and as always, please call me with any questions or concerns.
